Marty Haisten
Partner and CFO
Marty, Kelly, Carly, Abby, "little" Marty, and Zachary Haisten live in Katy, Texas. Marty and Kelly have called Fort Bend county home for over 30 years. Marty has been involved in Outdoor Living construction since 2001. When he began work in the field, construction was only a part time job, while working toward a degree in Finance from Texas A&M was his main focus.
After getting married, Marty and Kelly graduated from Texas A&M and moved back home to the heart of Katy in early 2006 to start their careers. Kelly taught in Katy ISD while Marty worked downtown at Ernst & Young. Shortly after, Marty realized that building had become a passion that was worth pursuing. Becoming a business owner in 2006 was the start of a wonderful career path in the field of outdoor living and a God- given blessing for their growing family.

Wheeler BeMent
Partner and Project Developer
Wheeler BeMent was born and raised in Fairchilds, Texas. Wheeler earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Baylor University and worked 12 years as a Manufacturing Engineer for Schlumberger, the industry leader in oilfield services and technology. The desire to build and remodel has always been in the forefront of Wheeler’s passions. After managing the quality and production of multi-million dollar assets in the oil and gas industry, Wheeler decided it was time to focus his time and talents on building something families would enjoy and appreciate.
Wheeler and Felicity were married in 2002 and have three wonderful children. Felicity works hard as a home school teacher, personal trainer, and Mary Kay consultant. The kids enjoy playing outside, cooking, jumping rope, playing basketball, soccer, T-ball, and the list goes on...

Ryan Yokubaitis
Partner and Project Developer
Ryan Yokubaitis is a native Houstonian, calling Pecan Grove in Fort Bend County home for over 20 years. Active in local and overseas church missions, Ryan graduated with a Bachelor of Science from College of Biblical Studies Houston and Masters Degree in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. While in grad school, Ryan worked in the technology field as an IT and Systems Administrator. But he found his passion is helping others, working with his hands, and the outdoors.
Ryan's background includes working as a field supervisor, licensed electrician, ranch facility rehab projects, multi-million dollar commercial water treatment plant projects and general contracting in residential remodel projects. Additionally, Ryan has been building outdoor living projects since 2008.
Ryan and Kathrin are parents to three precious (and delightfully crazy) children. Kathrin serves as the Director of Donor Relations at Star of Hope Mission for more than 12 years. Ryan enjoys wilderness hiking, hunting, fishing, Texas road trips and the Texas Gulf Coast region.

John Petry
Partner and Project Developer
John Petry was born and raised in DFW and received his bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M. During his engineering career, he designed aircraft systems for L3Harris for 13 years and trikes for Motor Trike Inc. for 5 years. He has had the opportunity to build, develop and test prototype motorcycles, manage engineering programs in the tens of millions of dollars, earn multiple US patents, design innovative products that help defend our nation, and provide exceptional customer service. John has always enjoyed designing and building construction projects.
John and his wife Rosalyn are blessed with three children – Johnny, Evan, and Charlotte. After earning her master’s degree, Rosalyn pursued her dream of working with children and currently serves as a middle school principal for K12 Stride. John’s not sure how he landed her, but is mighty grateful. John enjoys being a father to his three children, serving his wife, being a good friend, and BBQing.

Blake Roder
Project Developer
Blake Roder was born and raised in Houston. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Restaurant, Hotel, Institutional Management. Blake managed fine dining establishments where he learned a sharp eye for detail and the value of hard work. He switched careers and has spent the last 13 years selling John Deere equipment. No matter what, Blake has always had a passion for getting to know his customers and taking care of them in a timely and efficient manner.
Blake and Sarah were married in 2008 and have two boys, Shane and Cooper. Sarah is a dedicated nurse and has been with MD Anderson for 13 years. His kids enjoy playing baseball, swimming, camping, basketball… basically anything outdoors. Blake enjoys wade fishing, hunting, camping, cooking, baseball, college football, playing with his two boys, gardening, and always trying different ways to green up his lawn.

Jason Turner
Project Developer
Jason Turner, a proud native of Round Rock, Texas, is a modern-day builder with a passion for crafting and construction. From his early days tinkering with tools to his professional experience in sales within the furniture and granite industries, Jason's journey has been defined by his love for building all sorts of things.
With a keen eye for detail and a knack for problem-solving, Jason has honed his skills over the years, transforming raw materials into works of art. Whether it's renovating a kitchen, erecting a backyard deck, or constructing custom furniture pieces, Jason's craftsmanship shines through in every project he undertakes.
Family plays a central role in Jason's life, and he takes great pride in being an uncle to his two nieces, Kellyn and Kayden, and his nephew, Cooper. Their joy and curiosity inspire Jason to create spaces where memories are made and laughter echoes through the air.
Outside of his construction endeavors, Jason is an avid DIY enthusiast, always eager to tackle new challenges and learn new skills. His workshop is his sanctuary, where he can be found hammering away on his latest creation or brainstorming ideas for his next project.

Ben Martell
Project Developer
Ben Martell was born and raised in California. He and his family moved to Dallas, Texas a while back and are embracing the Texas lifestyle. In 2012, he began working in construction starting with the electrical industry, followed by working as a project manager/installer for window coverings for residential and commercial projects and, then was a superintendent for a commercial builders. Throughout the years Ben has developed his skills for building and fixing things both professionally and recreationally. He enjoys woodworking, refinishing furniture, and other things including auto repair.
Ben and Amber have been married since 2015 and have added three children, Carsyn, Daelyn, and Emerson. Together as a family they love to serve God and are very involved in their church. They love to spend time as a family and love to be outdoors. They are always up for camping, road tripping and going on hikes, you name it. Ben has recently picked up disc golf and pickleball and loves other side hobbies like BBQing and 3D printing.

Clay Barlow
Project Developer
Clay Barlow has a proven track record of successful projects. He is an expert in the residential construction industry with over 10 years experience in the Greater Houston market. Clay is one of our Experienced Project Developers, who brings a vast amount of knowledge and expertise to you and your project.
Since joining Tradition Outdoor Living, Clay has shown a commitment to providing the highest level of quality for all home improvement projects, with customer satisfaction being of the utmost importance. Although born in New Orleans, Clay was raised in the Houston area, and resides in the Heights.

Alex Dubay
Project Developer
Alex Dubay joins Tradition Outdoor Living as a dedicated project manager with a strong background in both construction and restaurant management. He brings hands-on experience, leadership, and a strong work ethic to every project. A lifelong resident of Fort Bend County, he takes pride in helping build and improve the community he calls home.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, their two wonderful kids, and their adorable dog, Millie. As an avid outdoorsman, when he’s not on a job site, you’ll likely find him fishing, hunting, or enjoying the outdoors with his family.

Riley Braun
Marketing Manager/Photographer
Riley was born and raised in Houston. In 2021 He graduated from Lubbock Christian University with a Bachelor of Art Degree in Digital Media.
In college Riley worked as a digital media intern for Ever Atelier in Dallas, Texas. After graduation, he worked for JWEIS Marketing, where he managed video production and content curation. He decided to join Tradition in January 2024.
In his free time, Riley enjoys playing golf, sports, film, and music. He is a sports fan and enjoys following his Houston teams. You can often find him hanging out with his two brothers or enjoying the great Texas outdoors.

Melanie Carlson
Officer Manager
Melanie was born and raised in Kansas, but the Rockwall and Royse City, Texas area has been home for the last 15 years. She met her husband, Brian, at the church they were both attending in Wichita, Kansas and they were married in 2008. Together they are raising two incredibly active boys, Aidan and Logan.
Melanie has worn many hats in her professional career. After attending school at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas she spent time as a legal secretary working in insurance defense and medical malpractice. When they moved to Texas, she spent time as a retail assistant manager, a Mother’s Day Out Pre-K teacher, and the last 3 years she worked as a special education paraprofessional for the local school district. Each of these roles has shaped her passion for service, organization, and supporting others in meaningful ways.
Outside of work, she stays busy playing chauffeur for the boys’ many activities. Cheering them on in their activities – soccer, tennis, cross country, and band is one of her favorite ways to spend her free time. Her family finds great joy in being actively involved at their local church, where her husband serves as a Life Group leader and they have found their friends who are like family.
